About Us
Here at Trulove Pugs, we take the utmost care to raise our puppies correctly. Weaning puppies are fed canned food that is carefully chosen for appropriate content. We hold, talk to, and cuddle each puppy many times per day, so they are well socialized with adult humans, and are very friendly. Our puppies are started on housetraining to outdoors at an early age (at least by 4 weeks), so that they can easily and naturally learn the correct place to eliminate. By the time they are eight weeks old, our puppies have learned where to go potty, and are trying to increase the amount of time that they are able to “hold it” indoors.
When you purchase a puppy from us, we are pleased to answer any questions you might have for as long as you have them to ask. Even if you don’t purchase one of our puppies, we are happy to “talk pugs.”
We recommend feeding a meat-based dog food without vegetables or beet pulp. Feeding a quality food properly designed to feed carnivores means fewer problems for the dogs, fewer reasons to have to visit the veterinarian, and a higher quality of life for the dog and its owner.
Although we do maintain a waiting list, we do not take deposits to reserve a puppy under 8 weeks old. We feel that any prospective buyer should be able to see through pictures, and know from asking questions, how any available puppy is developing, before they make a commitment to buy any certain one, or from a certain litter. This means you can get our opinion on the personality or energy level a certain puppy is going to have before you make a commitment to buy. You can even wait until the puppy is eight weeks old, visit the puppy, and then decide if it is right for you. All of our puppies come with a ten day health guarantee. Our Purchase Agreement/Guarantee is available for viewing upon request. We reserve the right to sell our puppies to those we feel will provide the best homes for them.
Our puppies are AKC registered, although sometimes puppies turn out to be only pet quality, so are sold with limited registration. This means that although a certain puppy is well equipped to be a good pet, it has a flaw that makes it unworthy to be bred or shown in conformation classes. All other puppies will be offered with the option of full registration or limited registration, depending on your needs.
